New App is Live

Today is the day, it’s been over three years since the app was last updated, but today it finally gets the makeover it so desperately needed. If you have the app installed, then bless you, you have the patience of a saint or you really need to start tidying up your unused apps, but if you do still have it then delete it. I’ll explain why…
The original app was based on some seriously bad code that I’d written while learning SwiftUI. After an hour or so of shaking my head in disbelief at the code I’d once written, and remembering just how ugly the UI was, I decided to completely start again. Completely new codebase, all new way of organising articles and managing them. Can you believe that in the last app, I was including the articles in the app code itself rather than pulling them down using the WordPress API? That’s why quite often you’d see a difference in the articles available in the app and those on the site. But that is a problem no more!
Anyway, I won’t spoil the fun, it’s still a basic app in what it offers, as at the end of the day, it’s an easier and more iOS friendly way of consuming the content off this site so it doesn’t have to do much. But it has a lot of useful features around finding articles you might want to read, saving and continuing articles you’ve started, and favouriting articles based off of tags or categories.
You can find the app on the iOS App Store (sorry Android users, I am looking at addressing that!) by searching LearnAutomation or clicking this link!
Now I just need to start adding regular content to make both this site and the app more useful to you!
